Bradley Thomas Obituary

Bradley J. Thomas
04/24/1941 - 01/10/2026
Bradley J. Thomas passed away on January 10, 2026 at home with family. Born April 24, 1941 in Oakland, California, Brad graduated from Sacred Heart High School in San Francisco in 1959. He began working at Pacific Bell Telephone shortly after, advancing to PBX Manager before retiring 30 years later at age 50, forging lasting friendships along the way.
Brad was a remarkable role model for many, setting an example through his unwavering dedication and strong work ethic. He was known for his commitment to providing for his family and ensuring their well-being, a testament to his character and sense of responsibility.
Brad developed a keen interest in finance and investing, a passion he pursued on his own initiative. He was entirely self-taught, gaining knowledge by listening to finance programs on the radio, reading extensively, and always seeking out opportunities to ask insightful questions. His drive to learn and improve inspired those around him.
Outside of his professional and financial interests, Brad was an enthusiastic sports fan, especially devoted to football and the San Francisco 49ers. He held season tickets for many years, faithfully supporting his team. Brad also enjoyed playing golf, often joining his friends from Pacific Bell as well as his children, their spouses, and grandchildren on the course. These moments of camaraderie and competition were a source of great joy for him and further strengthened the bonds with those he loved.
Brad is lovingly survived by his wife of 64 years, Sharon Thomas. Together, they built a strong foundation for their family, which includes their son Craig Thomas and his wife Noelia, and their daughter Lori and her husband Mike. Brad was predeceased by his youngest son, Jeffrey, whose memory remains cherished by the family.
Brad's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Jeffrey and his wife Celeste, Gino, Bret, Jack, and Max. He was also blessed to be a great-grandfather to Tayden and Rylan, bringing joy and warmth to each new generation.
In addition to his immediate family, Brad is remembered by several close relatives, including his brothers-in-law Gene and Lou, as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins who shared in his life and happiness.
Memorial gifts can be made to the charity of your choice.
A service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 18th at Steiner, Sullivan and Crosby Mortuary, 977 So. El Camino Real, San Mateo CA.
