Brian Gallagher Obituary

Brian James Gallagher
August 17, 1976 - January 20, 2022
It is with profound sadness that the family of Brian James Gallagher announce his unexpected passing on January 20th, at the age of 45.

Brian was the only son of Kathleen Ann Connelly and James Joseph Gallagher (deceased). He was the brother of Therese Gallagher, Heidi Gallagher and Jeanne-Marie Hebert (Brian), loving uncle of Todd Gallagher (Kaitlyn), Trevor Gallagher, Sophie Hebert and Owen Hebert and great uncle of Amelia Gallagher.

Brian grew up in Santa Rosa and graduated Santa Rosa High School. He went on to earn his B.A. degree from UC Berkeley. After college, Brian moved to San Francisco where he worked in grant management at UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Research Center and the Zero Divide Foundation. He most recently relocated to Sonoma to help care for his mother.

Whether you knew him as Brian, Bri G. Bri Guy, BJG or Beej, his kind, loving, sweet soul always shone through. Brian was a friend to many, always quick to laugh and with a great sense of humor.

Brian loved cooking with family and friends, gardening, live music, road trips with his buddies, international travel, his Oakland A's and San Francisco 49ers. He was a very talented self-taught musician whose best days were spent playing and performing with his friends. As one of his friends put it, "Beej never needed the spotlight, he just quietly jammed stage left."

Brian was so loved and will be deeply missed.

A celebration of life to take place at a later date.

Thinking of my pal Bri G during the holidays. Man, what I wouldn't give to hear him play again. Miss you, brother.

Bri G was an amazing and talented individual who always made me feel welcome whenever we would meet. I am so saddened by this and would like his family to know that he touched so many lives and his memory will be one I will hold onto forever. I met him in high school and would catch up with him intermittently in the years that came after. I have many fond memories of his smile, laughter and the many nights listening to him jam. Bri G will be missed. The world has a hole that cannot be filled by anyone else.
