Carlos Roca

Carlos Roca 1938-2011 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Carlos E. Roca, left us peacefully on January 27th, 2011, at his home in Daly City, CA. Carlos was born in Guatemala C.A. on March 16th 1938 to Edmundo and Lucila Roca. A devoted family man, he is preceded in death by his parents, brother (Mario) and sister (Olga). He is survived by his loving wife Alma "Tere" De Roca, his son's & daughters-in-law: Javier, Mauricio (Ivette) and Carlo (Ana); as well as adored Grandchildren Antonio, Dominic, Dylan, Andres and Sienna. Carlos passed away in the first and only home he ever owned and prided in raising his family in this home. He enjoyed camping all over Northern California, road trips to Baja California, Friday night dinners out with his wife and and his kids. His favorite restaurants were Sizzlers, Shakey's Pizza and Geneva Steak House. He enjoyed buying and hand making toys for his sons. He was very creative and was always working on projects around the house. A sport's fan he enjoyed boxing, soccer and baseball. He was happy to have watched his last World Cup and the Giants' win the World Series. Carlos worked at Hunters Point Shipyard as a member of the Boilermakers Union and eventually retired from Marin Airporter Co. as a maintenance supervisor. The family is extremely grateful to our large extended family, friends and neighbors who visited and called during our father's illness. Services will be held at Valente Marini Perata & Co. Funeral Home, 4840 Mission St, San Francisco, CA. Viewing will held on Monday January 31st from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm and Tuesday February 1st, 9:00am to 9:00pm, with the Rosary at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mission Dolores Basilica at 10:00am followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
