Carmela Pieretti Obituary

Carmela Pieretti
09/17/1933 - 01/02/2025
Carmela passed away peacefully with family at her side at the age of 91. She was the third of five children of Salvatore and Caterina Ternullo. Devoted wife of Leo Pieretti (D); loving mother of Rich (Diane) Pieretti, Cathleen (Jim) Brown; beloved Nana of Lauren (Lori) LaCoursiere, Jimmy (Julie) Brown, Ryan (Lauren) Brown, Kyle Brown and Tyler Brown; proud Great-Nana of Beau, Brooke, Taylor LaCoursiere and Little Jimmy Brown; devoted sister of Frances (Phil) Trupiano (D), Tom (D) (Jean) Ternullo, Marie (D) (Frank) Stone, Fred (Carol) Ternullo; and many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Carmela was born in Boston and came to North Beach at the age of 5. San Francisco is where she met Leo. They were married at Saints Peter and Paul on September 12, 1955 then moved to Daly City and raised their two children in their home in Westlake.
Carmela loved her large Italian family and sharing amazing multi-course feasts for all to enjoy. As her 5 grandchildren were born, she was active in all their lives and activities (She never did quite understand sports!!) As her great-grandchildren joined she spent her final years being endlessly entertained watching them all develop their own personalities. Her quiet leadership, love and passion for life and others will be sorely missed.
Private services were held. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.

My memory stems from Carmela being the patient, generous mother of my best friend in high-school, Richard. Recall several family gatherings, enveloped in food and tradition. Lovely souls.
