1922 - 2015
Charles A. Fisher passed away peacefully at home as was his desire on 06/28/15 to join his wife, Jeanne, who predeceased him in 2000. He was known as Charlie and was born at home in San Francisco on November 5, 1922. He grew up in San Mateo and spent the summers with his grandparents in the town of Mayfield, which is now known as Palo Alto. He attended San Mateo High School, College of San Mateo, and UC Davis. He served in the Army during World War II. One of his favorite sayings was "Happiness is being married to your best friend" and he felt that way about his wife of 57 1/2 years. They had 4 children, daughters Kevin Wessell, Catherine Moylan and Carolyn Shores, and son C. Jeffrey Fisher who passed away in 2010. They had 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Charlie started in real estate in 1953 and became a broker in 1955. He opened his own real estate firm, Fisher Realty in Pacifica, in 1961. It brought him great joy helping people buy a home. He was a past president multiple times of the Pacifica Coastside Board of Realtors. He also served as a Director for the California Dept of Real Estate Board for many years. He was honored by both the State of California and San Mateo County Real Estate Association for 50 years of service. He was a 59 year resident of Redwood City and lifetime member of the Palo Alto Elks which he joined in 1956. Jeanne and Charlie traveled the world. They especially enjoyed walking the beaches and collecting shells, which spurred them into buying their first vacation property in Maui in 1978. Following a private family ceremony, Charlie will be buried at Skylawn Memorial Park with the ashes of his late wife to join him in eternity. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
