My children and I love Dr. Woodard, I have 5 children with the oldest being 32 and the youngest being 14 in April, Dr. Woodard has been all of my children's pediatrician, we started going to Bayside Pediatrics when my oldest was about 4 years old, the only reason my youngest stopped seeing him was because we moved to Southern California when he was 3 moths old, but whenever we went back to the Bay Area and my youngest needed to be seen we always went back to Dr. Woodard and no matter what he was always available whether he was in the Oakland office or the office in Alameda. I just found out about his passing today, because I have a brand new granddaughter and she is having some complications and I thought about Dr. Woodard, even my grand kids that are 10 and 8 have seen DR. Woodard at least once, he will be truly missed by the Thomas/Morgan family :'-(

Dr. Woodard was a very eccentric man and physician. Our family has going to him for over 20 years. He was very caring and took his time with the kids. He was very thorough and even discovered my then new born Son had an ear infection when the nurses at Children's Hospital said that they would have to preform a spinal tap to see what was wrong with him...Doctor Woodard to the rescue!!Having so many children 3 I asked if I could bring them all in together for their appointments so that I wouldn't have to make so any trips to the office and they 85 % of the time accommodated me. He was a wonderful doctor and person and our family will miss him. Love the Lompa Family

I was shocked and saddened by the news of Dr. Woodard's passing as I was attempting to make an appt. He was my 10 & 3 year old son's doctor since they were babies. He was always straightforward, knowledgeable and manage to make us comfortable when it was time for those shots. He always put a smile on our faces and laughter in the room. He will be truly missed and we are fortunate and privileged to have had such an amazing doctor for my sons. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and the staff at Bayside Pinole.

Dr. Woodard was my first child's fantastic pediatrician. I learned of his passing when I delivered my second child last month. He will be greatly missed by my family, he helped my husband and I through the usual first time parent worries and a life threatening illness with reassurance and endless knowledge and compassion.

I learned today that Dr. Woodard had passed away. My now 17 year old daughter and I had an appointment at Bayside Pediatrics where all three of my girls had gone since they were newborns. Dr. Woodard has been their Doctor for all these years, and he will be greatly missed. I only have the best memories of him, and all the wonderful stories and advice he would give me regarding parenthood. He was always so reassuring to me and my children, especially during those early days of parenthood. He was a wonderful Doctor, and we will miss him very much.

Just found out the devistating news that my kids doctor passed away :'( there are not even words to express how sad I am and how much my heart hurts for his family. He has been with my kids as there doctor for almost 12 years! He is the reason my daughter gabby survived. He would always tell me about his daughter Gabriella too. He would say "it must be something with Gabriella's cause my gabby and your gabby are the smartest little girls I've ever seen." he would talk so highly of all his kids. but we always had our Gabriella's in common. I'm so sorry for your tremendous loss. What a great man and amazing doctor He was. Rest in peace DR woodard. Thank you for saving my gabby and thank you for the amazing and compassionate care you gave my girls over the years! You will be terribly missed!!

Dr. Woodard, or Dr. Charles as our family called him, was an amazing and intelligent physician. We brought our children to him 1st in Alameda, then Oakland and Pinole. He was always so thorough and put our worries to rest, often sharing stories of other patients or his children, in similar health or life situations. He made a positive connection with families, and we were ALWAYS assured he was right on the mark with his care of our children. He even saw our son as his patient through college.
We are deeply saddened by his passing. We are sorry for your loss of a husband and father, and our community's loss of a remarkable, gifted doctor.
Sincerely,
The Kneafsey Family

Dr. Woodard was an amazing doctor. Caring, compassionate and dedicated time to listen to his patients. My son said it best as he took him a picture, when he was 8, and dedicated it on the back saying: "TO THE BEST DOCTOR IN THE WORLD."
Our hearts go out to his family.

I'm saddened to hear of the passing of my favorite pediatrician, Dr. Charles Woodard. He was with me when I delivered my twins 25 years ago and joked for years afterwards I took him away from his Thanksgiving dinner. He was down to earth, caring and patient. He leaves such a void on this earth

We moved to Pinole and after much searching we found Dr. Woodard who was a caring and thoughtful pediatrician for our son. After our daughter was born she too saw dr. Woodard as her pediatrician. Dr. Woodard has help us navigate through some tough health issues for our kids and he will be greatly missed. Both of my children loved Dr. Woodard and so do I. We will miss his intelligence and humor.
