I´m sure I met Claire at her bookstore but my forever memories are of being in the same yoga class with Claire. I started out on a mat in the back of the studio and slowly moved toward the front. Then when I had my first knee replacement I moved toward a chair against the wall. That´s when I really began my friendship with Claire. We became yoga buddies on Mondays and then added coffee dates when Wendy would join us. I remember the muffin parties Pam would hold for octogenarian birthdays. Claire´s was always special. She always celebrated the whole month of January and often into February. That´s when friends got to take her out; January celebrations were filled with family. I remember my first visit to her yurt. It was for lavender picking. That sweet smell will always remind me of Claire.
