It was such a good feeling when discussing any issue with Dan, that he was "One" of us and appropriately reflected his many years of experiences in various fields of Law Enforcement.
He was truly a friend of the San Jose Police officer's Association.
May he rest in peace.
Carm J. Grande (past SJPOA President.

I tried one of my last cases in Dans court. after we had finished the trial, and before dismissing the jury, he addressed the jury. he told them that the prosecutor was just named the prosecutor of the year, and how proud the legal community was of him. he was a great friend and a solid judge. I have lots of fond memories of him, especially the ST PATRICKS DINNERS at he and Kathys house. a real self made man. and a heart of gold

As one of the Probation Officers who served his Court, I am proud to call him a friend. He never pretended to be something he wasn't. He was what and who he was. I enjoyed his banter, wit, and friendship.

Dan was a great mentor to me when I worked with him in the D.A.'s office in the early 70's. He was an all around fair individual who always had time for a younger, inquisitive deputy. We also had some great racquetball games in those days. I moved from San Jose and never knew him as a judge, although, I know he had a wonderful reputation in the legal community. Hard to lose good guys like Dan. The entire Creed Family has my Deepest Sympathy.
