Danielle Le Gear-Ryan Obituary

Danielle Le Gear-Ryan
07/15/1970 - 03/28/2024
Danielle Ryan (nee Le Gear) went to her eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family, on March 28, 2024, after a brief illness. Danielle was 53.
Danielle was born in Houston, Texas, the beloved eldest daughter of Fred and Sheila Le Gear. The family returned to Fermoy, County Cork when she was still an infant. She was educated at the Loreto Convent in Fermoy and attained a degree in European Studies at University College Cork. In 1994 Danielle emigrated Stateside, full of ambition, hopes, and dreams.
She met the love of her life, George, in 1998 at the wedding of a mutual friend. The pair were married in 2000 and have two wonderful children, Clodagh and Jack.
Danielle and George built a fabulous home in Burlingame, and their house soon became a hub of the Peninsula ex-pat Irish community. Barbeques and parties there were always packed to the brim, and Danielle's hospitality and generosity became the stuff of legend. She was a great friend to so many people, Irish or otherwise, and her passing will leave a big hole in many hearts. She was particularly generous with her time when it came to those who lived on their own. Over the years, she would entertain on a Grand Scale at Holidays, no one was ever left out
?In times of ill health in other families, Danielle was always the first at the door with a home-cooked meal. Always welcome at such times, especially from Danielle, who was a fantastic home cook. She was a shining light to so many in good times and bad, she was the heart and soul of life's party, and she was always there with a hug or a shoulder to cry on when needed.
Danielle will be forever loved and missed by her husband George, daughter Clodagh, son Jack; her mother and father Sheila and Fred; her sister Neidra; brothers Jason and Jonathan; sisters- and brothers-in-law; uncles and aunts; nieces and nephews and the rest of her extended family, as well as her wide circle of friends in the Bay Area, Ireland and many other places around the world.
The Ryan Family would like to thank so many who have reached out and offered their support at this time. It is greatly appreciated. They also want to thank all the doctors and nurses at CPMC Davies in San Francisco and at Mills Peninsula Medical Center for their kindness, understanding, and professionalism.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1310 Bayswater Avenue, Burlingame, CA 94010. A Vigil Mass will be held immediately following at 6:00 p.m.

Danielle was my first 'best friend' and she holds a special place in my heart always. My happiest childhood memories are of us playing in the Glenabo woods and I still visit our camps and trails when I'm back home and think of her.

She was the best best friend - listening to my problems, keeping my secrets and sharing my dreams - and I can see from her obituary that she was that for many people throughout her life.

I'm so very sorry that we lost touch over the years and I never got to see her meet her true love (we talked often of what he would be like and I'm sure you were everything 11 year old Danielle dreamed of and more George) and have a family.

My condolences George, Clodagh, Jack, Fred, Sheila, Neidra, Jason and Jonathan. I am thinking of you all and hoping your memories of a wonderful wife, mam, daughter and sister will help you through.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis.
