Dave Anderson Obituary

David Paul Anderson

May 16, 1950 - December 25, 2016

Dave Anderson passed away on Christmas Day from complications due to traumatic brain injury. He was 66 years old. Dave was a tremendous enthusiast in his active life as a swimmer, surfer, cyclist, hiker, ping pong player, and all around active guy. He will be missed by his wife Christin, son Grifin, and the many people who came to know him. Dave's extended family included Peter and Betty Foott, of San Leandro, Kathy and Bob Pearson of Santa Cruz, his sister Karen Rennecker, of Florida, his nephew, Jeff Rennecker, of Los Angeles, his brother-in-law, Jim Mathy of Yucaipa.

Dave was a Broadcast Legend, he got his start in his vast radio career at KTAHO, and then became a star at KGU Jazz Radio in Hawaii. When he moved to the Bay Area, he was hired at KNBR by Carter B. Smith, his childhood radio hero. Dave's greatest radio career accomplishment was his ten- year tenure at KOIT, as a music show host. He was consistently at the top of the radio ARBITRON Ratings for his afternoon drive show. In addition to KOIT, he also was an on-air talent at KCBS NEWS, KGO, and Shadow Traffic. The best thing about Dave was his way of being with people in a very comfortable and kind way. Please make your contributions in his memory to Surfrider Foundation or Hospice of Petaluma.
