David Gilson Obituary
02/02/1937 - 07/19/2024
David died peacefully at home in Pacifica. He leaves behind his loving family: his wife, Marcia Settel; his daughters Amelia Ross-Gilson and Sarah Gilson, his son-in-law Dashiell Harwood; and his grandsons Noah and Miles Gilson. He also leaves behind a community of friends who were enriched by his wit, his intellect and his generous spirit. We thank his A.A. community for the last 35 years of fellowship that allowed David to live his fullest life. A celebration will be held October 5th at 1 p.m. at San Pedro Valley Park, 600 Oddstad Blvd., Pacifica. Donations in his honor can be made to Doctors Without Borders.

Dave and I were roommates at Cal and I always treasured his sense of humor, his many talents, and his friendship. Dave and I connected at the 20th anniversary of SLATE, where I found out he was sitting on the bench of law courts. I am proud to have known him and will always remember him.
