Dolores Schumann quietly passed away after a sudden illness at age 85.  She was preceded in death by her beloved and devoted husband of 53 years, James Edward Schumann, in 2006.


Dolores Amelia Pynch was born in Denver, Colorado and came to San Francisco as a young girl.  She attended St. Rose High School and then UC Berkeley, the first in her family to get a college degree.  Dolores met and married the love of her life, Jim, in 1953.  She worked for the SF Unified School District for many years as an elementary school teacher, later in her career completing a Master of Arts Degree in Education at SFSU.  


Dolores is survived by her loving children James C. Schumann, Jennifer Zarr, Melinda Rally and son-in-law George J. Rally, grandchildren James (Maria) and Adrienne Zarr, Tess and James G. Rally, Jared and Lauren Schumann, and great-grandchildren Joseph and Zoe Zarr, and was preceded in death by son-in-law Richard Zarr.  


Visitation Monday, April 14th, 4 to 9 pm, with a Rosary Service at 7pm, at Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Ave., Daly City.  A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10am at St. Brendan's Church, 29 Rockaway Ave., San Francisco, followed by a Graveside Service at Holy Cross Cemetery.
