Mr. Adams and Artie. Very sorry to read about Mrs. Adams passing. She was a beautiful lady; I remember her well from our parish St. Emydius, being a classmate of Artie's. Warmest regards, Kathleen Dudley Sheehan.

We were so very sorry to hear of Dorothy's passing. Our family rented a house across the street from Art and Dorothy for seven years until we bought our new home in Westwood Park just over a year ago.
Dorothy and Art were the most wonderful neighbors. Our daughter was born 2 months after we moved to Plymouth Avenue, and they always asked how she was doing, how we were doing, gave us tips on gardening and generally made us feel so welcomed into the neighborhood! Always, they were quick with a ‘hello', a friendly wave, and conversation.
I still remember the first time we took out daughter trick-or-treating to their house when she was just a year old; Dorothy had made a point to ask if we would be coming over that night and she greeted our daughter with such genuine affection and joy. Each Halloween from then on, until their health prevented them from decorating and celebrating, Art and Dorothy's place was our first stop. Our daughter insisted on it.
Dorothy made a deep and lasting positive impression on all of us.She epitomized grace, strength and dignity.
She was an amazing woman, and we are glad we had the opportunity to know her. Our hearts go out to Art and their family for their loss.

I went to school with Dorothy Adams' son, Artie 5th through 8th grades at nearby parish school St. Emydius, and for four years at Riordan High School, too (maybe City College also?). Mr. and Mrs. Adams were a big part of us kids' life and experience in that class and especially us boys who played basketball together. There were only a handful of "hands-on" parents and my classmate's parents were one of the few who could be counted upon to involve themselves not only in their own childrens' lives, but those of the school, parish and community's, also. Mrs. Adams would have some tasty treats for us kids and lots of warm hospitality in her home for us, and Mr. Adams was a resolute "team-Dad" who ensured we'd get to all of our away-games by being a reliable source of transport in his old '49 Mercury;) Rest in peace, Dorothy and thank you for your contribution to the lives you touched through the years!
Warmly,
Steve Murtha

For those of us who had the privilege and pleasure to know the entire Adams Family around the St. Emydius community, the loss of Mrs. Adams is viewed with sadness! She and her husband were pillars of our community. My family got to know them as I was a classmate with Artie, while my Sister was with Kim. Great people, of tremendous personal integrity, courage, and civic involvement, whose impact was clearly far beyond our quiet San Francisco neighborhood. May God hold her in his hand! Condolences to the Adams Family!
