I was saddened to read of the loss of this kind, interesting and generous man. I knew Dr. Fogelberg through my employment at the Orthopaedic Group of San Francisco and remember him with much fondness. To his family and friends, accept my condolences.

Dear Norma,
So very, very sorry to hear this sad news. We have thought of you many times over the past years. So sorry to have lost track after the move from Vallejo Drive. Please give my love to Renee and Erik.
Ross is now in a memory care facility, another sad page in our lives.
With much compassion for your loss...

Earl and I attending the same elementary school in Chicago and were fond classmates (1954) at the Latin School. I admired Earl's warmth, humor and leadership abilities. Since school days, we reconnected occasionally at class reunions and when my spouse and I visited San Francisco. He will be mourned and missed by those of us who knew and cherished him!

To Earl´s wife Norma and his "kids" Renee and Erik I send my condolences and best wishes, and happiest memories of you all and of your wonderful Earl, the "Earl of Fogelberg" some of us laughingly called him when I knew him so many years ago in San Francisco! What a wonderful human being, so full of life and fun and curiosity and a spirit of adventure. His 70th birthday party at St Francis Yacht Club was one of the most fun and memorable celebrations of anyone in memory. He was a wonderful man, gifted orthopedic surgeon, so talented with many skills and interests in addition to medicine and surgery, a great lover of his family, and appreciator of friends and of being alive. We will miss him greatly! We were so fortunate to have known him! Steve Walsh, MD
