Edd Dundas Obituary

Edd Dundas
11/22/1929 - 04/07/2025
EDD SOFFE DUNDAS passed away peacefully on April 7th, 2025 at 95 years young.
Edd lived a full life and loved learning, good food, animals, his family and dear friends. He was born in Salt Lake City and passed away on the Peninsula in San Mateo County, having lived most of his final years in the home that his parents built in 1945, when arriving from Salt Lake city. He leaves behind his sister, Coette Schmidt and her husband of almost 68 years, Bill Schmidt, his nieces Joette Schmidt (Kent Derdivanis), Kerri Barbour, Tobi Schmidt, his nephew Mikel Schmidt (Phaedra Waybourn), great nieces Katie Haybok (Jonathan Haybok) and Kelsie Barbour (Matthew Travis) and great, great nephew, Lukas Haybok.
Edd had a successful career in the San Francisco Bay Area in television, travel films, educational medical films and the arts. His filming of the construction of the iconic Bank of America building in downtown San Francisco captured a moment in San Francisco's great history, where Edd resided for many years. Edd received two masters' degrees from San Francisco State and stayed active with the university for many years. His love of theatre and all of the arts kept him busy and fulfilled. Edd had many friends from many walks of life over the yeats, from Japan to New York, Europe to California, reflecting his broad scope of life interests and learning.
He will be missed by all but we take comfort knowing that he was at peace with his passing and a life well-lived. If so inspired, Edd's favorite non-profits were KQED/PBS, the Peninsula Humane Society and Planned Parenthood. Any correspondence for the family can be directed c/o [email protected]
