Edmund Jaruzel Obituary

Edmund Jaruzel 08-04-1921 to 02-24-2011 Passed away peacefully on February 24th at St. Luke's Hospital from complications of influenza & pneumonia. He was born August 4, 1921 in Germany he later immigrated to the U.S. in the 1950's. It should be noted that he was a "Master Chess Player" who at one time played the late great "Bobby Fisher." He majored in Politics, and Economics: Henry George on Political Reform at San Francisco City College. He was a loving Uncle of Ronnie & Christina. He is survived by his two living sisters: Jene Duc, and Janet Jaruzel both from France. And a brother: Theodore Jaruzel living near Rochester N.Y. as well as many nieces, and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his two sisters Sonia Powell, and Marie Irene Scott. Also had "Two Very Best Friends of Fifty Years" M.D. Doctor, and a Professor from City College Of San Francisco. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Family & friends may visit Wednesday, March 2nd 2011 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City, Ca. 94014. Private Family Internment will be at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in San Rafael, Ca. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions maybe made to the charity of their choice.

My Uncle.....like no other!
A real fix-it-man for sure, a yes I, can-do-it kinda man, who indeed lived the "American Dream" and inspired many others around him... when he spoke of his many hardships in Europe... but never did he complain about it... only spoke of it as all in the past now, and how he loved living life to the fullest, and being American he was a true lover of all the people. And he hated all wars! And would often say to me " what a waste of life thats what war is all about"

When my work here is o'er, and trials come no more On that great day I'm going home To live forever more just o'er on heaven's shore.
