Eleanor passed away peacefully on October 10, 2015 after a short illness. Born and raised in San Francisco, she was a kind, gentle, and sweet woman who was also strong and independent. A beautician by trade, she owned Jessie's Beauty Shop on Mason Street in San Francisco's Chinatown with her mother and sister, and she later managed a travel agency. She enjoyed travelling, Chinese and Korean soap operas, and spending time with her family and friends. To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Aunty El was a wonderful sister to my mom. They were very close and spent a lot of time together. My memories of her are when we used to go to Disneyland and Yosemite. But, my best memory is when we went with my sister and toured New York. One day, we hit the train, subway, bus, cab, boat, and also walked a little bit too far for her but she hung in there. After seeing the Statue of Liberty, World Trade Memorial, and taking the bus tours up to Harlem and back down to Little Italy, she said she was up to doing it all over again. What a sport!
