Elise Stone is survived by her husband Donald Stone, daughters Lora and Linda Stone, son-in-law Hugo Montero, grandson Sam Calvert and step-grandson Yves Montero. Elise was a health educator, traveler, reader, hiker, bridge enthusiast, political activist, musician and lover of the arts. She learned piano at a young age and then clarinet, and enjoyed playing duets for many years. Her first political involvement was canvassing for President Kennedy followed by ongoing involvement in voter education and a stint as area President of the League of Women Voters. Throughout her 59 year marriage, she travelled with Don to almost 50 countries. Their travels increased after her retirement from the California Poison Center, where she was the lead health educator. She had a wide circle of family and friends and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Elise's life will be held at Peninsula Temple Beth-El, 1700 Alameda de Las Pulgas in San Mateo on Sunday, March 22 from 3-6pm.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
