Elizabeth Bristow Obituary

Elizabeth Janice Ohanneson Bristow Jan Bristow, age 84, passed away December 30. She lived life to its fullest and in her way. Jan was born in Alameda in 1926 and graduated from Alameda High School. She and Bill married in 1945. While moving frequently when Bill was in the US Navy, they spent most of their married life in Calgary, Canada or in the Orinda area. Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Brantly "Bill" Bristow in 1991. She will be inurned with him at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis. She is survived by her sons and their wives, John and Becky Bristow of Dallas, Tom and Mary Bristow of Alhambra, CA; her sister, Midge Kaney of Sacramento, and her grandchildren Elizabeth, Phillip, Jennifer and Greg Bristow. A celebration of Jan's life will be held at St. Stephen's Church in Orinda at 11am on January 22 followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to St. Stephen's Church, to the Lindsay Wildlife Museum, or to a charity of your choice.

That was such a nice Service on Saturday ... I am very glad that I was able to attend and give Kristine my support. Even though I never met you Jan, I was given the gift of being able to talk to you over the phone a couple of time. You will be missed.

To The Bristow Family, I was so sorry to hear of your Mother's death. She was a dear friend to my father and mother, George and Ellen Hamilton of Lafayette.
