Emily Kathleen Jones, age 32, of Romulus passed away at Strong Memorial Hospital after a brief illness on September 10, 2025.
Emily was born in Auburn on August 30, 1993. She was a 2012 graduate of South Seneca High School, and worked in property management for INHS of Ithaca. Emily loved her work and excelled in her career.
She was so proud of her son, Carter, and took on the role of “Mama Bear”, forever his defender and fierce protector. Together they chased waterfalls in the Finger Lakes and Adirondacks, enjoyed swimming and kayaking and bonfires. Emily loved the ocean and beaches..anything outside was time well spent. She looked forward to the vibrant fall colors of the Finger Lakes and sunflowers were always a favorite. Emily made a home for her and Carter, adding her special decorating touches.
Emily is survived by her beloved son, Carter Jones; mother and stepfather, Nancy (David) Jones; father; siblings in her life, Katherine, Heather, Shelly, and Casey Jones, and Tara Morton; maternal grandparents, Ted and Joanne Mitchell; and paternal grandmother, Winnie Jones. Emily was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, David Jones.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Covert Funeral Home in Ovid. In lieu of flowers, kindly talk to her parents about ways to best help Carter during this most difficult time, as Emily only wants the best for him.
