Passed away in South San Francisco on May 10, 2013 at age 60. Eric, who owned several businesses for more than four decades, is survived by his two sisters, Tamara Dale Riley (John H.K.) of Novato and Jo Ann McGinnis (Israel Shankel-Simmons) of Walnut Creek. He was a beloved uncle to Ron (Tokiko) Carpenter, Lisa (Christian) Hunt, and Ryan McGinnis; and adored great uncle to David and Jason Carpenter and Rachel and Marisa Hunt; a cousin to many; and a friend to all who knew him. He was born June 26, 1952 in San Francisco, the third child of David and Bess (Resnick) Wiseman, both of whom predeceased him.
A graduate of City College of San Francisco, Eric earned his landscape contractor's license. Eric, who had worked since he was 17 years old, owned Eric Wiseman Landscaping, but during his professional career, he also owned a nursery and a restaurant and was a candy-machine supplier. He loved Japanese-themed gardens, but would study designs of other landscapers and visit other Bay Area nurseries for inspiration
Eric loved family gatherings, people, and barbecues - and visiting Reno and exhibiting in flower shows. He loved to bowl, attend county fairs, and hangout with his friends at Joann's Cafe - as much for the camaraderie as for the activity. If you were a friend of Eric's and you needed help, he was there - even if you didn't ask him; it didn't matter whether it was a fund-raising barbecue, setting up for a trade show or an exhibition, or just being company in a booth at a street fair.
A member of Congregation Ner Tamid in San Francisco.

Eric & I have known each other for 22 years plus. I am so sorry to hear your gone. We joked, kidded around and teased you about what flowers you wanted at your funeral. OMG Eric, Brentwood Bowl will miss you. All the picnics we had & your landscaping booth at the San Mateo County fair, oh I can go on, and on, and on. I nicknamed him "Turkey" from his bowling days. I'm sorry I didn't know the funeral was Tuesday. I miss you ERIC, I will visit your grave and put your gazellia's you wanted..RIP
