Fay Fregosi Obituary

Fay (Sophia) L. Fregosi

June 14, 1934 – September 6, 2014

Fay (Sophia) L. Fregosi, of San Francisco, California, left this world peacefully, in her home, surrounded by her loving family on September 6th, 2014.

Remembered fondly for her kindness, thoughtfulness, laughter and unconditional love of her family, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Fay was a very well respected, gracious and elegant lady, who always saw the good and positive in people and in life. She was honest and fair about her views, and you always knew where she stood on the things that truly mattered.

Born in San Francisco to the late Gus and Connie Bravos, Fay was an exceptional dancer of all styles. She was a gifted ballet dancer and her talents were well recognized as she studied under the Christensen Brothers at the San Francisco Ballet School. She graduated high school from Notre Dame des Victoires and went on to study at UC Berkeley.

Her passions included horseback riding, spending precious time with her family and grandchildren (which included many sleep overs), traveling to Greece, staying connected to her Greek heritage, love of fashion, reading, crossword puzzles and frequently socializing with many life long friends. Fay was always gracious and sincere in her relationships and never shy to share her true feelings.

Loving wife of 40 years of Leonard A. Fregosi. Devoted mother of Lydia Delis-Schlosser, Dean Delis (Nancy), Gina Fregosi, and the late Lenny and Kevin Fregosi.

Treasured Yia Yia (grandmother) of Christina Ramos, Frankie and Mikie Schlosser, Melina Delis, Shalene Cannon, Sophia and Andrina Delis.

Great grandmother of Charlotte Ramos. Dear mother-in-law of Rena Fregosi. Sister–in-law of Jim Fregosi and Carol Madge, and a loyal friend to many.

In her own gracious style, Fay was the epitome of a strong and vital woman. She was everything a friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother should be.

'We love you Fay, Mom, Yia Yia!' Forever in our hearts, you will be greatly missed by your family and those who were blessed to have known you.

At Fay's request there will be no public services. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Pathways Hospice, by mail: 585 North Mary Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94085, online: pathwayshealth.org.
