Florentino (Tino) Rosas passed away peacefully in the presence of his family on August 21, 2014. Tino was born on January 26, 1929 in San Francisco, California. He was preceded in death by his parents Sotero and Beatriz Rosas, his daughter, Elizabeth, and his siblings, Marie, Sara and Frank. He is survived by his wife, Mildred, his children, Tom (Joan ), Rebecca (John), Dan (Nancy) and Angel (Holly), his sister, Beatrice, and sister in law, Angelina. He was the proud patriarch to a large and loving family, including grandchildren: Christopher, James (Julie), Sheila, Christina (Jeff), Jessica, Jennifer (David), Frank, Alexis, Dominic, Rebecca, Douglas. He was the proud great grandfather to Samuel, David, Daniel, Nathaniel, Christiana, Christina, Grace and Oliver.

Tino attend Portola Junior High School and Balboa High School before joining the Merchant Marines from 1945-1950. After his service in the Merchant Marines, Tino operated the Islas Creek landfill and G&L Debris Box Service for many years. He owned the South San Francisco Transit for several years in the early 1970's and was the proud owner of Rosas Construction Company for over 25 years. Highlights of his work efforts can still be seen in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Tino was a dedicated family man and affected multi generations of his family with a strong sense of humor and work ethic. He opened his home to extended family members and friends on many occasions. He helped launch the successful careers of many community members who began working in his various businesses.

Tino left an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Friends may visit Monday after 4:00pm and are invited to attend the vigil service Monday, August 25, 2014, 7:00pm at DUGGAN'S SERRA MORTUARY, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City. The funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 26, 2014, 10:00am at Holy Angel's Church, 107 San Pedro Rd, Colma, CA. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Mills Peninsula Hospital, 1501 Trousdale Drive, Burlingame, CA 94010. Pease write "Cancer" on the memo line.
