Was born March 5, 1915 in Berkeley, California to Michael and Emma Grennan Quillinan and passed October 1, 2013 at age 98. One of seven children, she grew up in Berkeley and lived her adult life in Oakland, including over ten years at Piedmont Gardens Senior Community. She moved to Walnut Creek to be closer to her nieces Claire Kennerley and Jayne Savage and their families. She is survived by seven other nieces and nephews.
Fran lived life as a high energy person with unlimited charisma. She never knew a stranger. Her cheerful attitude about everything in life was her trademark. She maintained close relationships with her brothers and sisters and friends. She was proud of her 35 years employment with AT&T and her membership in the Telephone Pioneers. She was a longtime member of Laurentian Institute #70 of Y.L.I. and the Rockridge Club.
She was preceded in death by her siblings and husband David "Dee" Ellsworth.
A Mass in celebration of her life will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 14, 2013 at St. Leo's Catholic Church, 176 Ridgeway Avenue, Oakland, CA. Interment will be immediately following at St. Mary's Cemetery, Oakland, CA.
