When we heard the news we were in shock. Our lasting memory of Frances is at our daughter Sheny's wedding. Frances was wearing a beautiful sari, dancing with Reza, smiling and fully enjoying herself.

Reza and Afsaneh, we love you both and you are truly part of our family. We await your next visit to Edmonton and if there is anything you ever need please count on us.

Love,

Sheny and Prabhu

Our dearest Mrs. Z,

Thank you for being the generous, honest, loving, supportive, and stunningly beautiful west coast mom to us. We will always remember you and the times we shared in Costa Rica, Boston, and especially at our wedding....your presence meant so much to us. We promise to be there for Afsaneh, Mr. Z, and your family as we too have felt your warmth and love.

Love always,

Dearest Afsaneh and Reza,

She will be missed.
My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

I will remember the time we spent time together on the Thanksgiving, many dinner occasions, the graduation ceremony and, most of all, Sheny's wedding in Canada. During the trip and while we were in a car, I was not very good at giving a direction but she was so patient and believed in my sense of direction. Frances was truly the most beautiful, generous, warm, funny and caring person.

With my dearest sympathy,

Dear Afsaneh and Z family,

I can't imagine what the years at HSPH would have been like if not peppered by Mrs. Z's visits. She was always and always will be a force in this world, one of strength, fun, positiveness, and determination. I am happy to have known her, both in person and through Afsaneh. I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Mr. Zolfahari, Afsaneh and Family,

It truly broke my heart when I heard about your loss, there are no sympathetic words or gestures that I could say or do that ease the pain of lossing such a wonderful wife, or a mother who meant everything to her daughter and was who her daughter aspired to be one day. I wish I could say that one thing that makes everything better, but I am sure that with time and with the love and closeness that you have for each other you will find a way to draw strength from each other in the midst of such hard times. All I can do is try to express to you how deeply sorry I am about your loss and tell you and your family that you will forever be in my prayers. Afsaneh, keep striving to be like your mother, she was a great woman and a perfect example for which to model yourself after. I am absolutely positive that Francis Zolfaghari is in a better place and is and will always be looking after her family with love and pride, she will not miss any part of your lives, she loved you too much for that.

With Sympathy and Love,
Mr. & Mrs. Jasper Mills

Dear Mr. Z, Afsaneh and Family,

I feel very privileged to not only have met your wife, your mom, your family member but to have experienced her love, her sincere kindness, thoughtfulness and generosity, her humor and her love of mine even if she didn’t get it half the time, her lumpia, her love for laying in the Japanese Room with me and watching golf on TV for 8 hours straight, her need to have me carry her Louis Vuitton bag all throughout China. I could go on and on and on…as could anybody that knew her. She was a very special person to many people all over the world and her passing will greatly affect us all. But it is comforting to know that because she was such a wonderful woman and touched so many lives she has left us a great network of family and friends that will help us all get through this difficult time as she has been there and would be there for anyone one of us.

To Tiger, My West Coast Mom: I thank you for all the wonderful memories you have given me…you truly are a very special woman. I love you dearly.

Love, Punto Allie (Venus)
