Francis "Frank" A. Holland passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home in San Rafael, CA on Saturday Sept. 20, 2025. Born December 27, 1930 in Los Angeles, CA. He was raised in a Children's Home in Ohio with his brother John George Holland, Jr. for most of his formative years. Through circumstances beyond their control, they lost contact with each other after leaving the home, by but what could be called a miracle of sorts, their lives came together again some 70 years later when both were in their 80's.
He was predeceased by his parents, his beloved wife of 23 years, Diane J. Holland who died January 31, 2006, his 2 nephews on his brother's side of the family, John Holland the 3rd and Joseph Holland. His wife, Diane was the love of his life. He was survived by his recently deceased sister-in-law Marlene Patrick, nephews Ronnie, Robert, Frank, nieces Alayne, Margaret, Patty and Elaine who survived her husband's death. Also survived by numerous grandnephews and nieces plus his good, loyal and special friend, Tom Lim.
He worked for the SP Transportation Co. for 34 years before retiring in 1986. He loved art, the slot machines, and cruising--especially with his wife Diane.
Private services will be held at the Chapel of the Hills in San Anselmo, CA with interment to follow at the Mt. Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael on Friday October 24, 2025 at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Guide Dogs for the Blind in memory of his wife Diane, who was blind at time of her death.
