I once took a trip to Santa Barbara with Mr Cercos, Pat and Ted after recently seeing the movie Jaws. We spent a week or so at a beautiful beach but I was too afraid to go into the water in fear of being eaten by a shark. Mr Cercos laughed but he never ridiculed or outwardly judged my decision to stay out of the surf. He was a man of his convictions and would stand his ground. Mr. Cercos was a character, a leading man on the big stage. Condolences to the Cercos clan.

Frank and John, My sincere condolences and my sympathy to you and to your families for your loss. I worked with your Dad as a fireman and as an officer. He was a good fireman and a good boss. He always did his job well and in a aggressive but a very competent manner--I always felt comfortable working with him and enjoyed being around him at the firehouse. I saw him in Marin a number of times after he retired and again after I retired and he was always pleasant, friendly and enjoyable to talk with. Again, I know this is a great loss and you have my condolences.

To the Cercos Family
I was very saddened by the passing of Frank one of the finest and courageous firefighters I have ever had the honor to call friend. Frank and I went back to the old Drill Team and some grand times. I had the pleasure of serving at 7 Truck while Frank was Lt of 10 Engine. I was always proud to be a friend of one of the legendary firefighters of a great Fire Department Frank Cercos. Frank, may you have a fair wind and a following sea. I will always remember you

John, Frank, and family: I know that your have great memories of your Dad that will help you get through this tough time. Besides working with him in the SFFD, he was my neighbor many years ago in Terra Linda. He was a man of great integrity who stuck by his principles and always gave you an honest answer. He left an indelible mark on many of us.

Frank Jr. & John Cercos,
I did not know your dad personally, but was well aware of the respect he had in the Dept.
I know its like losing a little bit of your own history and it does leave a void.
Your both pretty strong guys, so I expect you will move forward
Take Care
Bob

John and family,
Though I didn't get a chance to meet your dad, I know from you, and from his story, what kind of a man he was. Our community and our world are diminished each time we lose one of these wonderful human beings, but that is also heaven's gain. Please know that you and your dad are in my thoughts and prayers today. I wish I could be there to give you a hug.

Dear Cercos Family,
Frank was one of the first persons I worked with while I was in the fire department. He was the model in those days. I am sorry for his passing and grateful for my memories of him.
