Frank Paul Strazzullo

Frank passed away peacefully at his home on February 1, 2012 with his family by his side at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Joan for 54 years. Devoted father of Sandy (Ace) Zenner, Paul (Shirley) Strazzullo, adored Nanu to Nicole Zenner, Gina Marie (Travis) Hybl and Rachel and Dante Strazzullo, great Nanu to Elias Hybl. He was the son of the late Frank and Mary Strazzullo. Brother of Rose Robertson and the late Josephine Strazzullo, brother-in-law of Buz (Jo Ann) Beecher, survived by nephews, nieces and cousins. Frank graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1949. He was All City there for 2 years. He was signed by the Oakland Oaks in 1950 and played at Visalia Sweetwater, Eugene and Stockton. He then served 4 years in the Coastguard came out and played semi-pro with the Tri City Braves. He worked with the Globe of California for awhile and then became owner of CMS Enterprises Inc. Frank was the founder of the friends of Marino Pieretti Group - his Pride and Joy for many years and ran the monthly lunches. He was a member of San Francisco Old Timers Baseball Assoc, Northern California Veterans Boxers Assoc, and Native Sons of the Golden West Guadalupe Parlor No. 231. Frank was San Francisco's Old Timers Baseball Association Ultimate Old Timer and Man of the year. He was an honoree at the Dante Benedetti Baseball Fund Dinner and North Beach Marina Group. Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mercy Church 1 Elmwood Drive Daly City Friday February 10, 2012 at 11am. Reception following at Nick's Rockaway 100 Rockaway Beach, Pacifica.
