Fred was an avid skier, known as 'Heavenly Fred', past owner and promoter of Heavenly Ski Resort, and a successful investment broker and financial advisor. Fred was active in many clubs in Sacramento and was a trustee of the UC Berkeley Foundation. Fred was quite a character, wearing clogs, working at a standup desk and always skiing with a necktie. He was always helping others and inspiring the young. Fred is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jeanne; children, Eric, James and Catherine and their spouses; two grandchildren, Stephen Stone and Cameron Corfee and soon-to-be grandson, Fred Corfee III; brother, Allen Corfee; sister-in-law and her husband, Eleanor and Theodore Brown of SF and Lake Tahoe. Services will be held on Feb. 24, 2006, 4:00p.m., Freemont Presbyterian Church, 5770 Carlson Dr., Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Freemont Presbyterian Church, 5770 Carlson Drive, Sacramento, CA 95819 to assist in purchasing a new organ.

TO THE CORFEE FAMILY:

WE WANT TO OFFER YOU ALL OUR SYMPATHY FOR YOUR GREAT LOSS. IN ADDITION, WE ALSO NEED TO EXPRESS OUR APPRECIATION, GOOD THOUGHTS, AND MEMORIES OF A TIME, ALMOST 25 YEARS AGO NOW, WHEN YOUR PASTURE, ARENA, AND FORMER HORSE, MR. BLUE BECAME OUR DAUGHTER, JULIE'S, FIRST HORSE AND HER BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL AVOCATION. ON SO MANY DAYS, FRED WOULD COME OUT AND OFFER JULIE ENCOURAGEMENT AS SHE RODE AND TENDED HER HORSE THERE IN THE ARENA AND STABLE BEHIND YOUR HOME. OF COURSE, THAT WAS TRUE OF EACH OF YOU. WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM AND YOU IN THOSE TIMES AND HOW WONDERFUL YOU ALL WERE TO A NEW 11 YEAR OLD RIDER AND FELLOW HORSEWOMAN.

To the Corfee Family,

Our Family will sorely miss Fred, and I want to express my deepest sympathies for your loss. Fred was a great man and always had a kind word, good advice, or great joke pass along. I first met Fred when I had an internship at AG Edwards in 1991 and he has been giving me great advice and helping shape the direction of my career ever since then.

We share your loss. We shared many, many good times with Fred and "the twins". Each and every day that Fred was skiing at Heavenly he always stopped by my office to share an insight or two. God Bless You.

I'd like to extend my sympathies to the entire Corfee family. I first met Fred when I began working at a young age at Paine Webber downtown in the mid-70's (I was then known as Debbie Parker). He greeted me on my first day as a new wire operator and said, "God Bless You," then proceeded to drive me nuts for years to come with his unique style of handwriting, underlining orders with a ruler, most barely legible, written on his tall "desk," with his view overlooking the Capitol. He made life interesting, to say the least. I grew to respect him as a gentleman with a quick wit and remember much of his advice to this day. He was definitely one of a kind and is most likely sharing his wisdom with someone upstairs right now, as he did with all of us.

Sincerely,

Deborah

Dear Jeanne & family,

My wife Diane and I want to express our sympathy for your loss. I worked with Fred at PaineWebber in the 1970's. I also graduated from Sacramento High in 1957 and UC Berkeley in 1961. We belonged to 20-30 and played tennis together.

I wanted you to know that Fred gave me a helping hand as a new broker which I have not forgotten. He strived to be tops at whatever he did. We have lost a unique gentleman.
