Fritz Bullmann Obituary

Frederick William (Fritz) was born October 1, 1936 in Oakland, CA died peacefully at the age 89 at home under hospice care. Beloved father, husband, and good friend to many, Fritz was liked by all who met him. From his maternal Swedish lineage, he donned shining, bright blue eyes also gifted to his sons and grandsons. He and his life partner, Claudia Collette Kelly, of 45 years traveled the world together after meeting on a blind date. He leaves two sons from his marriage to Janice Self: Ken Bullmann and David Bullmann and two grandsons, Trevor Bullmann and Ryan Bullmann.
Fritz's love and mastery of wheels big and small, started at an early age, skillfully turning and twisting on roller skates dancing to his mother's organ music with his dear sister Barbara at their Oakland roller rink. As a bonified Gear Head, Fritz was welcomed into the East Oakland Rod Wreckers and still treasures his car club jacket from 75 years ago. His favorite pastime was riding his BMW or Ducati motorcycle on the fun curvy roads of California and Europe. On a ride to Death Valley, he wore out a tire, got a nasty speeding ticket but was thrilled to have made 25 new best biker friends with the Montgomery Motorcycle Club!
Not one to put on the breaks when the loud motors beckon, he rode in car rallies with his Ferrari 360 and in his friend's 1939 Jaguar from California to Colorado. It wasn't always La Dolce Vita - with engine fires, snowy narrow mountain passes and tangling with an ill-fitting convertible top in pouring rain - Fritz's great attitude made this stuff seem like part of the adventure.
Claudia and Fritz retired to the Sausalito waterfront on their floating home named Kemosabe, aka "wing man". Active with the community particularly with other gear heads met driving out along the West Marin country roads.
