Dad,

There is no doubt that you, and Mom, will live on and be fondly and lovingly remembered in the hearts of all the very many who have gotten to know you. I know this for a fact because they have been telling me this for many, many, years, including on and well before this day.
Thank you for the many weekends visiting museums, parks, and the zoo, together, for the roof over my head, my education, for many vacations and distant places you have taken me, the sharing of good times and the weathering of rough times, the subtle understandings, the lessons, the straight talk, the long stretches of patience, the wonderful moments of absolute hilarity, and the easy comradery of the many people you befriended - all, and I know there is so much more, will certainly never be forgotten and always appreciated.

I am very glad I got to tell you I love you before it was too late.

Your namesake, your son, George.
