LUCCHETTI, Giuseppe (Joseph), 93, passed away peacefully in Sonoma, CA on April 22, 2014. He was born in Chiesanuova (Liguria) Italy and immigrated to San Francisco by ship in 1953. Upon his arrival in San Francisco he worked for Golden Gate Disposal Company until his retirement in 1982.
Joseph was an avid gardener with a "green-thumb" who took great pride in his backyard garden of vegetables and flowers. We will always remember his generosity with his bumper crop of tomatoes and vegetables. He was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation and Ligure nel Mondo.
Joseph was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and is survived by Lina Lucchetti, his loving wife of 67 years, his son and daughter, Dr. Frank (Rose) Lucchetti and Sandra (Martin) Ramella. He has four grandchildren who lovingly called him "Nonno Ba", Steve (Tina), Robert (Aimee) Lucchetti, Stefanie and Carolyn Ramella, as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Joseph, Sophie, and Mia Lucchetti. He leaves behind his loving sister Romilda Garibaldi and their families, as well as numerous cousins in the United States, South America, and in Italy. He is predeceased by his loving sister Norma Garibaldi.
A private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma, CA on April 28, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity in memoriam. Arrangements cared for under the direction of Duggan's Mission Chapel, Mission Cremation Service.
