Glenda Pino Obituary

Glenda Pino
March 16, 1944 - May 31, 2023
Glenda Gregory Pino, 79, of San Jose, CA, died peacefully surrounded by family on May 31, 2023.
Glenda was born on March 16, 1944, to Mellie (Mears) and Beryl William Gregory in Kalamazoo, Michigan. After spending her younger years in Mississippi, Glenda moved to Richmond, CA with her mom Mellie and siblings Carolyn, William and Alfred before settling in the Alum Rock area of San Jose. Glenda graduated from James Lick High School in 1962.
Glenda worked for DeVilbiss Manufacturing Company as an administrative assistant for 20 years. While working at DeVilbiss, Glenda met Gabriel Pino Jr., who founded Univ-Air Equipment Company and worked closely with DeVilbiss. They were married in 1975 and Glenda and Gabe went on to blend their families, including Gabriel's two children, Cynthia and Daniel, and had one additional child, Jennifer. After raising Jennifer, Glenda went back to work and spent 20 additional years with East Side Union High School District serving Independence and William C. Overfelt High Schools and the Adult Education Programs.
Glenda retired from ESUHD in 2011 and transitioned to spending her time volunteering with, and fostering many animals for, the Silicon Valley Humane Society, expanding her beautiful gardens, and playing with her two pups Spencer and Rags. During retirement, she enjoyed nothing more however, than catching up with her three grandchildren, Ethan, Evan and Eliott and attending their many sports games and school activities.
Glenda was predeceased by Gabriel Pino Jr., her husband of 37 years, her mother Mellie (Mears) Gregory, father Beryl Gregory, older sister Carolyn (Gregory) Schofield and younger brother Alfred Gregory. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Pino (Minna Tao) and Jennifer (Pino) Liu (Michael) and grandchildren Ethan Liu, Evan Liu and Eliott Liu; Gabriel's son Daniel Pino (Joyce) and their children Daniel Pino Jr., Brian Pino and Allen Pino; her brother William Beryl Gregory, Sister-in-Law Patricia {Fetterman) Gregory and many nieces and nephews.
Glenda, with her feisty personality and sense of humor, is dearly loved and will be forever missed by her family and friends, human and furry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Silicon Valley at Gifts in Memory of Glenda Pino. We're very sad to hear of Glenda's passing. We go way back to high school days, when Glenda and Tim were "crowned" Cutest Couple for the 1962 Argus, wearing their matching sweaters! Many great memories...
