Gordon Dunn Obituary

Gordon S. Dunn Passed away peacefully Oct. 18, 2007 at 77 years of age at Marin General Hospital of congestive heart failure. Born Jan. 8, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN, Gordon was a resident of Marin for 48 years. In his twenties, Gordon became vice president of Crow, Collier & MacMillan Publishers, becoming one of the youngest vice presidents of a national company in the United States at that time. Subsequently, Gordon purchased Transworld Systems, Inc., an accounts receivable firm, serving as president and CEO until the company's sale to Union Corporation, a NYSE company. Gordon then served on the board of directors of Union Corporation, eventually retiring in 2000. Gordon, an avid yachtsman, was a member of both the Marin and San Francisco Yacht Clubs. Gordon spent many happy times sailing all over the world. He loved horses and horse racing even owning race horses for a time. Gordon is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joanne; two daughters, Laurie Dunn of San Rafael and Victoria Regan of Boston, and one son, Robert Dunn of San Rafael. Gordon has three grandchildren, Christina, Patrick, and Katherine; two nephews, Brad and Scott Dunn; and one niece, Pamela Dunn. There will be a joyous Celebration of Gordon's life on Sunday, Nov. 11th, 11:30 a.m. at the St. Francis Yacht Club in SF. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Westerfield Scholarship Fund, Asbury College, Wilmore, KY, 40390, or the Marin Humane Society, 171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd., Novato, CA 94949.
