Gordon Murray

Gordon Stewart Murray 1950 - 2011 On January 15, 2011. Beloved husband of Randi Glass Murray, loving father of Sam Murray and Ben Murray. Devoted son of Ursula Koerber, the late Gordon C. Murray and Louis Koerber. Cherished brother of Norma and Ken Iglehart, Gillian and Bryan Koerber; son-in-law of Barry Glass, the late Shirley Glass and Sandra Glass. Beloved brother-in-law of Karen Glass, Ira Glass and Anaheed Alani. Gordon is also pre-deceased by his grandparents Ruby and Reginald Stewart, and Edward and Norma Murray. Gordon grew up in Baltimore, MD. He worked for 25 years in the securities business in senior management positions at Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB). After retiring from CSFB in 2001, Gordon worked as a consultant with Dimensional Fund Advisors. After Gordon was diagnosed with glioblastoma he dedicated himself with even more passion to issues of financial reform and investor education. In 2010, after a recurrence of brain cancer, Gordon collaborated with his friend Dan Goldie to write a groundbreaking book The Investment Answer, published by Business Plus, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing. Gordon was known for his integrity, passion, deep and abiding friendships, and his sense of humor, which frequently involved practical jokes and prank phone calls. He loved his family, friends, his yoga practice, and playing tennis and bridge. Gordon's indomitable spirit was never in greater evidence than during his two-year battle with cancer. At Gordon's request there will be no memorial or funeral service.
