Guillermo Rodriguez Obituary

Rev. Guillermo Rodriguez passed away peacefully at 93 years of age on April 24, 2024.
Fr. Guillermo was ordained as a Catholic Priest in Cuba on July 15, 1958, and served the archdiocese from 1955 to 1983. His ministries included St. Patrick's Parish San Jose and St. Phillips the Apostle Parish San Francisco. Fr. Guillermo continued to be very active beyond his retirement at the Monastery of the Perpetual Adoration, St. Brendan's Church, and as a chaplain at St. Mary's Hospital. He extended the hand of Jesus to the needy throughout San Francisco until his passing.
As a master artist and painter, Father Guillermo spoke six languages, loved the opera, and was an accomplished concert pianist. His work and sense of humor will be remembered by many, as well as the motto he lived by, "The greatest sin of all is wasting time."
Fr. Guillermo is survived by his nephew and niece, Steve and Francis Cajote; grandnephew, Christopher Cajote; grandniece, Wendy Kennedy; and niece-in-Iaw, Betty Cajote.
His Excellency Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone will be the principal celebrant at the funeral services to be held at St. Brendan's Church, 29 Rockaway, San Francisco, Calif. 94127, on May 8, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Monastery of Perpetual Adoration is sincerely appreciated, at 771 Ashbury St., San Francisco, Calif. 94117; 415-566-2743.

RIP Fr. Rodriguez. Remembering all of the times you brought the Eucharist to my mother. May God bless and reward you in heaven. No doubt He and the Blessed Mother love your tapestries.

I remember Fr.Rodriguez most as he was the one priest who visited my mother 21 years ago at our family home when she had terminal cancer. He came many times and brought her sweets. A couple of times he made what was like a crème caramel from sweetened condensed milk. His beautiful tapestries in the back of St. Brendan´s church are a testament to his artistic talent. May he rest in peace in our Lords presence and all those he ministered to and helped.
