Gwen Campbell passed away unexpectedly on September 14, 2025 at the age of 56 at her home in San Francisco, California.
She was born on February 16, 1969 to Arlene Merollo and James Campbell, and raised in Philadelphia. She is survived by her adored children, Maxwell and Zoe Campbell, as well as her mother, brothers John Campbell and Rob Campbell (Jessica Campbell), and sisters Kathleen Campbell (Patrick Deifik) and Jessica Campbell (Tim Casto), along with nephew James Campbell and niece Ivy Campbell.
Gwen graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1991 and from Harvard Business School in 1997. She began her career at Goldman Sachs and went on to work at UBS, Merrill Lynch, and J.P. Morgan. Over three decades in financial services, she built a distinguished career in private wealth management and was recognized by Barron's and Forbes among the nation's top financial advisors. She was known for being a fierce advocate and sounding board for her clients, many of whom became close friends.
Gwen was whip smart, direct, and quick-witted, but also deeply loyal and generous with her time. She developed lifelong friendships and had a gift for making people feel both challenged and supported.
What mattered most to Gwen were her two children. She raised Max and Zoe as a single mother for most of their upbringing; she was devoted to ensuring they were deeply cared for and that their interests and passions were nurtured and supported.
