Harold Mindell

Harold Mindell of San Mateo, 96, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. Harold was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn, daughter Ellen, and faithful walking buddy Bravo. Harold is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Susan (John), Barbara (Paul), and Judy (Philip), grandchildren Jeremy, Miranda, Alyssa and Ryan, and great-granddaughters Hannah and Aurora. Also included in the family are Harold's extraordinary caregivers Myrna, Eloisa and Ruth, who enabled Harold to live his own way, in his own home during his illness. The family also appreciates the support provided by Kaiser Hospice.

Born in Sedalia, MO, the fourth of five boys, Harold served overseas as a communications specialist and Captain in the Air Force during WWII. Upon his return he and Marilyn married in 1946 and moved to Richmond, CA where he continued his education at Berkeley. The family eventually settled with their four daughters in San Mateo. Harold was a member of the San Mateo-Burlingame Board of Realtors for over 40 years, including one term as Board President. Harold was named Realtor of the Year during his career. Harold was a devoted family man who took great pride in the accomplishments of those dear to him and was always there to help friends and family in need. He will be greatly missed.
