Helmut Rolfes Obituary
August 6, 1923 - July 19, 2022
A retired internist and emergency room physician, died peacefully at home in San Bruno with his son at his side. He is survived by his son Richard Rolfes (Judi), his two grandsons, Ricky Rolfes (Caitlin), and Kent Williams (Linda), and great-granddaughter Katla. Although "Opa" loved being an old fashioned doctor in solo practice who made house calls, he really enjoyed retirement and traveling with his late wife, Elsa. There will be a celebration of life Mass at St. Roberts Church in San Bruno on Saturday August 20 at 10:30 am.

Dr. Rolfes was my first doctor and a dear family friend; having traveled with my grandparents (Hans Fritz and Charlotte Marie Faross) and their 2 girls from German after WWII. I am sorrowed to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to Ricky and Judi and their entire family.

When I was an 18 year old newlywed I developed a severe kidney infection. Not having insurance I almost died. Somehow my husband connected with Dr. Rolfes and he came to our apartment every day for a week to treat me. He also never charged us for his care. I now am an 80 year old grandmother and great grandmother. Thank you and God bless you Dr. Rolfes. Our condolences to your family.

My condolences to the Rolfes family.
Doctor Rolfes was our family doctor for 20 years.
So many house calls and office visits, always with a joyful, compassionate love for his patients.
He was truly a great man that taught many about how to live a good life. May God Bless Dr. Rofles.
