So sad to hear of Hanks passing. I worked with Hank on a few projects while he was working for the city of Palo Alto. What a gentleman Hank was, he always had a smile on his face and in a great mood.
RIP Hank it was my great pleasure to know you

Hi, for anyone wanting to donate...
Hank often donated to the following; Wounded Warrior Project, Woodside Portola-Valley Fire Protection Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the American Cancer Society to name a few.
It would be greatly appreciated if you contributed to any of those organizations in Honor of Hank's memory. Thank you in advance.

Hank Casper will always be with me. He was quite the entertaining personality. He was big and extremely fun, and often at my expense.
I was crazy about him. We occasionally worked together and he would tell me stories of the pranks he pulled.
There was a beach clean up. He and a buddy took out a boat and had a bull horn. He told the volunteers on the beach that he was the "Beach Master" and directed the volunteers back and forth on the beach.
One time he totally pranked me. I was getting a lot of customer complaints for noise at my construction site. A large man drove by the job site, in his own pick up with the window open, and pounded loudly on the side of his truck door bellowing, "I can't sleep at night!" Pounding and bellowing," I can't sleep at night!"...I was totally alarmed (!) and it was at that point I recognize him and see Hanks big grinning face! He got me.
One of my favorite lines of his was: "Why would anyone who earned less than 80,000 a year be Republican?"
I adored Hank. One time we got in a fight about the job (only once?)
and we soon as it started we back working fine.
I wish I could describe Hanks kindness and caring. Hank was more from my Dad's generation, but he really made a great effort to be working well with a woman on the job.
When Hank got too sick (and refused to admit it) we had to do a punch list of many streets together. I would have him drive his truck and I would repeatedly hop out, run around, and check the property, and hop back in the truck.
Hank is and was a classic of a great generation of men and people who loved work, and although he sometimes revealed his non PC side, it was hard not to love him. I know I did.

Condolences from the SFFD. Is there a charitable organization to contribute in Henry Casper's honor. A few retired firefighters are inquiring at the Chief's Office.
