Hugh Conroy Obituary

Hugh Conroy
06/11/1942 - 09/07/2025
With fondness and love we remember Hugh James Conroy, a proud San Franciscan, who died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on September 7, 2025 in Bellingham, Washington. Hugh was born to Hugh John Conroy and Helen Conroy (Barry) on June 11, 1942. He is survived by his wife Linda (Waskey) Conroy; their children Hugh (Kristin Denham), Jeanne, and Julie Conroy; grandchildren Ivy, Ella, and Jack Denham-Conroy, and Alice Maeve Durnan; and brother John Conroy. Hugh was preceded in death by his sister, Marilyn Conroy and nephew Colin Conroy.
Hugh grew up on 14th Avenue where he formed many lifelong friendships and precious memories which he spoke of often. He cherished the relationships that he built through the years at St. Cecelia School; St. Ignatius High School; and the University of California, Berkeley. Hugh valued education and found deep fulfillment in his decades long career at Westmoor High School.
A celebration of Hugh's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Whatcom Hospice Foundation, Lupus Foundation of America, or a charity of your choice.

Good afternoon. This is Paul Sheridan, a neighbor from just two blocks away. I last saw Mr. Conroy pushing a grandie on the swing at JP Muphy a few years back. To Huge Jr and all Team Conroy, please accept sincere condolences on dad's passing from The Sheridans of North Florida. Thank you, Paul Sheridan & Family
