Pauline Secor Elliott

Sept. 19, 1924 – Oct. 23, 2013

Pauline Secor Elliott died October 23, 2013 at home in Kentfield, CA after a long illness. Polly was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh W. Elliott M.D.; survived by her children Christopher (Barbara) Secor, Delanie (Peter) Read, Douglas Secor, and Wendy (Steve) Smit, sister Madeline (Joe) Mixer, stepchildren, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Born Pauline Lorraine Holcomb in San Diego, CA on September 19, 1924, she graduated from Point Loma High School, and then as a member of the Stanford University Class of '45, where she joined Kappa Kappa Gamma. There she met her first husband, Charles M. Secor, who was attending Stanford Medical School; after graduating she attended Stanford Law School.

Polly lived most of her life in Marin County, where she helped build her husband's medical practice, was a proud homemaker dedicated to raising their children, and invested in real estate. She was an early advocate for continuing education for adults, attending the Stanford Summer Alumni programs. One of her greatest joys was traveling.

At a Stanford Class of '45 reunion she reconnected with Hugh Elliott, whom she married in 1988. As active members of the World Affairs Council, they traveled the world engaging with political leaders. Together they enjoyed following politics and government, over 25 years of marriage.
