Ibrahim Hijazi Obituary

HIJAZI, Ibrahim Ahmad - August 10, 1935- June 30, 2005, was born in Jafa Palestine, raised in Gaza Palestine. Lived in San Francisco for 31 years and returned to Palestine in 2001. He graduated from American University of Beirut (AUB) with a master's degree in economics and political science and worked as an economic advisor in the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia. He was a founding member of the A.C.C.C. and served on the board of many other non-profit organizations. Two children, 12 brothers and sisters, many nephews and nieces, numerous other family members and a multitude of life long friends survive him. His generosity and inexhaustible energy will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him. Ibrahim, as we all knew him in Beirut as DAD, when he first came to San Francisco he stayed at my appartment for few months. We lost touch. I met him in Beirut in the 1960s through my best friends Badi and Nabil Shaffu.
