The amazing Ira L. Sharenow, 79, died August 23 in Tucson, Arizona.
He was born in the Bronx, NY on May 30, 1934. Ira graduated from Dewitt Clinton High School and received a degree in Pharmacy from Fordham University School of Pharmacy and an LLB in Law from Columbia University.
He worked for the Pharmaceutical Society of Greater New York and for Blue Cross Blue Shield before relocating to Phoenix Arizona in 1978. In 1988 Ira graduated from the California Culinary Academy with honors.
Ira is survived by his wife, Sylvia, three children: Brett Sharenow, Wendi Rogers Geisinger, and Dean Sharenow.
A service will be held in the Bay Area sometime in the Spring of 2014.
