RIP Jack... I'm glad I got to meet and befriend you at Prudential. I loved hearing your stories about college basketball and John Wooden! I will miss stopping by on your birthday and during Christmases to visit and catch up with you. Most of all, I will miss my friend. Until we meet again Jack...
Love,

Jack was a humble man of integrity that kept every deal he made. Never forget the first college game he assigned me and then insisted he pick me up and drive me to and from the game. That meant a lot to me as a young official, believe me! Rest In Peace Jack!

Jack was a kind and supportive man who gave many upcoming basketball officials a "helping hand" during their basketball journeys. I officiated WITH him in the `70´s, was evaluated BY him in the `80´s and was assigned BY him in the `90´s. He loved his family and will be missed by the many who received his unwavering friendship and encouragement.
Rest in peace Jack, you had a great run.

Jack was one of my great mentors in basketball officiating. From that contact he became a friend outside of basketball. Without a doubt one of the nicest and caring man I've ever met in or outside of basketball. God Bless and Rest In Peace.

Jack a life long friend so many years. Al and Jack enjoyed one another's friendship and so many memories of games with lots of emotion - UOP, USF, Santa Clara, Fresno - I so remember both of them talking after they would return from those games. Such intense rivalries between all those schools.
My family would call Jack "The Candy Man" as he would bring by the Whitmans.-
Joining Al and the "games above" - - RI{ Jack - -

Rest in peace Jack. He was a good friend and a great official. He called many fouls on me during my playing career. He will be missed. My sympathy to the family.

Dear Ditty family.
I was proud to know Jack, your father, grandfather, throughout all of my adult life. HIs kindness and mentorship extended to my officiating life, it was my honor of officiating games with Jack and later working for Jack as an official in the West Coast Conference.
His ready friendship, smile and sense of humor will alway be indelibly etched on on my heart.
Jack, was a special man. And those who knew him and his family loved him.
Rest In Peace Jack, and i am sure the good lord will assign you the most important Games
Your fiend always
Richie.
