It seems every family in America, in my generation at least, has an "Uncle Jack", but I didn't realize how common it was until I grew up a bit, so OUR Uncle Jack will always be the template, the original to my brothers and I. He was always kind and increasingly generous through the years.Even though he always sent a card with, "a little something", for Birthdays and Christmas, (without fail, and adjusted for inflation!), my fondest memory will always be Thanksgiving as a kid. He would come through the door with shrimp picked up in the city for our parents' shrimp cocktails. As kids we could care less because we knew we would have canned fruit at the kiddie table. Anyhow, he would produce a chocolate turkey with two extremely crisp dollar bills,(I'm talking fresh off the mint folks), wrapped around the neck and with all attention focused on you would say, "GOBBLE GOBBLE!", something he still said up until last year that still made everyone laugh and feel like a well loved kid. Uncle Jack, you will live on in the memories of our family's generations to come. Love you.
