Jack Heiser Obituary

Jack Heiser

5/24/22 - 2/20/16

A fourth generation native San Franciscan and a graduate of Poly HS, class of 1940, passed away on Feb. 20, 2016 after a short illness. A veteran of WW II, his first duty was patrolling the beaches on the Oregon Coast shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor with his dog Duny, and later riding his horse, Mike. Upon applying for and completing Sonar Training in San Diego, he next served as a sonar tech on Naval and Coast Guard Vessels protecting shipping from Japanese's submarines in the Pacific.

After the war Jack went to work for The City as a Certified Court Reporter, working in Court Rooms at the City Hall and the old and new Hall of Justice. He retired after 31 years to the Golf Course and spent his leisure time as a member of the Sharps Park Men's Club and golf courses around California with his wife of 66 years, Lorraine (nee; Heim) who passed away in 2008.

As football fans he and Lorraine held season tickets at Kezar, and for a few years at The Stick. They enjoyed Super Bowl Parties which they hosted annually with their many friends. Subsequent to Lorraine's passing he enjoyed the company of Pat, a long time friend and relative by marriage, and Anna a caring and compassionate caretaker.

Jack is survived by his daughter, Jaclyn and her two daughters, Michelle Jackson-James (David) and their children Milik, Kymani and Lilah; Beth Jackson-Espinoza (Mateo); and Jack's son Jim (Linda) and their two sons, Matt and Greg (Karlie).

There will be no service at his request; BaPa, as he was known by family and friends, will be interned at the Columbarium in The City, where he will join his wife, his parents and grandparents.
