I was Cris's guest on some Welisch family trips to Tahoe in 1968 and 1969. My memory of Jack is his sense of humor and the way he used to make us kids laugh. At dinner, it often got to the point where gracious eating was just about impossible for me and everyone else. Jack, thanks for the memories (and sorry about the mouthfuls that were spat across the table). My love goes out to your family.

Please know you have our thoughts and prayers with all of you. Jack was the epitome of class and grace. Although he will be missed, he has not truly left us. He left his mark on people everywhere! God Bless!

For the last few days I've struggled with what to say and how to say it. Words somehow don't quite get it right, but thoughts are clear and always come back to the same place: If you want to know why they are called "The Greatest Generation", think of Jack.

My deepest love, prayers, and sympathy to Jack's precious family. Jack was a good friend, a patient teacher, and a class act in everything that he did. I will forever remember those wonderful occasions when I was priviledged to accompany him and John to the "Club" for some incredible fishing, some fearsome domino games, and some thought provoking conversation about a myriad of subjects in which Jack was an bonafide authority. Jack touched a lot of good people in his life and made them better just by knowing him. He will be missed, but always remembered with a smile.

Jack spent much time teaching me the rice business, and while doing so imparted much of his great wisdom. He also passed on to me his love for Labrador Retreivers. An exceptional teacher, scholar and leader - he will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.

A man of high integrity, who loved Labs and trout. We will miss his visits to our office and his smile and gentle words. Our heartfelt sympathies to his family, who will miss him more than words can say.
