Jack Wittenmyer Obituary

Jack Wittenmyer
August 28, 1943 - March 24, 2023
Jack Wittenmyer, 79, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2023. Jack was born in Findlay, Ohio, and was the eldest of three siblings. After graduating from Findlay High School and attending Ohio State University, he served in the U.S. Air Force. He moved to Santa Cruz, CA in the late 1970's, and later moved to Marin County where he resided for over 40 years.
Jack was a stationary engineer and proud member of the IUOE, Stationary Engineers, Local 39. Nothing gave him more pleasure than working on a multitude of projects. He was a car/motorcyle/steam train enthusiast, and a lover of clocks. He formed the Market Street Timekeepers, and in 2000 led the restoration of the Samuels Clock on Market Street. Jack was also a model train collector and for 35 years belonged to the Nor Cal Division of the Train Collectors Association.
Jack is survived by his brother and sister (Bob and Kathryn), a niece, 2 nephews and 2 step grandsons.
Jack, a self proclaimed curmudgeon and a raconteur, will be missed by his family and friends.
