Long time resident of the Sunset District in San Francisco passed away too soon at the age of 63. Vince was born and raised in The City. As a youth, he attended Holy Name Elementary School and Abraham Lincoln High School. Vince loved sports -- the whole family did. He played competitive soccer and softball with so many of his own brothers. He was proud to work as a San Francisco Union painter by trade and retired after 30+ years. Vince married his sweetheart Sherie on Sept. 13, 1975 and together they raised two beautiful children in Sonoma County. He enjoyed many pastimes including family camping and supporting all SF sport teams (Giants, 49ers, Warriors, Sharks). But his all time favorite sport of handball began in the courts at Big Rec in Golden Gate Park and South End Rowing Club. Vince looked forward to playing handball with his friends and that affinity continued at The Parkpoint Club, Santa Rosa. He is survived by his loving wife, his children (Christine and Keith); their spouses (Stephane Deblock and Lisa Barbata) and their children (his own special bond of love for grandchildren Catherine, Cameron, Vincent, and baby Lucas). He is also survived by his 11 devoted brothers and sisters: Marie, Kathy, John, Paul, Fred, Margaret, Francis, Eileen, Mark, Kevin and Helen. Friends are invited to celebrate his wonderful life at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, Snyder Lane, Rohnert Park on Sunday, July 31, 2016, 1:30 p.m.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Vince was my favorite grown-up on 33rd. He had a very uncommon nature cool, rugged, but most of all kind. I can´t believe it´s been nine years since he passed. He´s in so many of my memories as a child. I wish could send more as an adult.

My deepest condolences to the Breining Family. I had the privilege of growing up with Vince and his siblings. Looking back on our shared experiences readily brings a smilefrom the long days of playing ball on the street to the days of riding together to school at Lincoln. I often recount stories of life on 33rd Ave. with Vince and the Breining Clan. Vince truly embodied the wonderful joy and spirit of our youth. My thoughts and sympathy go out to Vince's family and of course to the entire Breining family.

As the past president of the Park Point Handball Club I know I can say from all of use You played the game like you lived with the heart of a competitor and the soul of a loving friend. The game was never more fun and brought our brotherhood together more than when you and your brother Francis was on the court. Me and my family especially my son Shane will miss just the thought of you.

Heartfelt condolences to the entire Breining family. I have so many happy childhood memories which include Vince. We were close friends and had such great times exploring and growing together. We were classmates, of course, at Holy name as well as Lincoln HS. Though we lost touch with each other over the years, I still tell many stories which include Vince and the amazing 33rd Ave. childhood experience which shaped us all! I am sure that Vince and his family gained an amazing sense of community and family from the experience. The great memories I have of Vince center around his great smile and wonderful sense of humor! Gee, he made me laugh! I am sure he kept these alive his whole life and I will always remember him by these. I will keep him and especially his family in my prayers.

We were so saddened by the news of Vince's passing, Sherie, and are holding you and your family in our hearts! How wonderful it was, seeing you and Vince at Mom's memorial Mass two months ago, and reliving memories, with some of his sibs, of those fun times shared by the Breining and Pelfini clans. I will always remember his sweet smile and easy-going manner. Our love and prayers are with you all. Sue and Mike Bucchianeri and family
